Memberships
Why purchase a family/individual membership to help support the work of the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society?

Many of the improvements and amenities you see around the park were funded by the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society, working in cooperation with the State of Ohio and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. Some of our larger projects have been the construction of the Lifesaving Station replica, funding the restoration of the lifesaving boat, construction of the restrooms, replacement of the fencing around the Keeper's House, development of the quarry exhibit, and creating the new video for the Carriage House (see the video here), as well as some smaller projects, such as the decoration of the lighthouse for the holidays, maintaining the flower gardens in the park and providing some of the annual programming.
How did we pay for these improvements? Not with tax dollars, but through revenue generated by memberships, ticket sales, donations, brick sales, and gift shop sales. All of the revenue generated is spent for the betterment of the park or to improve the visitors’ experiences.
